Dry Needling in Columbus, GA

Break Through the Tension That Won't Release

When tight, overloaded muscle tissue stops responding to stretching, massage, or rest, dry needling reaches the restriction at its source. Our licensed Doctors of Physical Therapy target specific trigger points and deep tissue to reduce pain, restore mobility, and get you back to training.

Muscle Tension Doesn't Fix Itself

Stretching Isn't Reaching the Root Problem

Surface-level work doesn't address deep trigger points or chronically guarded tissue. The same tightness keeps returning because the underlying restriction never gets resolved.

Pain Is Limiting Your Training

Whether it's a tight hip, a locked shoulder, or persistent back tension, restricted tissue drags down your performance and keeps you modifying around the problem. For back and neck tension, spinal manipulation is often paired with dry needling to address both the joint restriction and the surrounding tissue in the same session.

You've Tried Other Approaches Without Lasting Results

Massage, foam rolling, and rest provide temporary relief, but if the underlying trigger points remain active, the restriction returns and the cycle continues.
Common Conditions We Treat

What Dry Needling Addresses

From stubborn trigger points and training-related tightness to nerve referral patterns, dry needling helps restore the movement being held back by restricted tissue.

Trigger Point Pain and Muscle Tension - Chronically overactive muscles and trigger points that refer pain, limit range of motion, and resist other forms of treatment.

Hip Tightness and Restricted Mobility - Deep hip flexor, glute, or TFL tension that limits squat depth, running stride, and overall lower-body performance.

Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Restriction - Rotator cuff and periscapular muscle tension limiting overhead range, pressing strength, and throwing mechanics.

Neck Tension and Cervicogenic Headaches - Cervical and upper trapezius trigger points contributing to neck stiffness, restricted rotation, and tension headaches affecting daily activity.

Low Back and Gluteal Tension - Paraspinal, quadratus lumborum, and gluteal muscle tension that limits training, affects posture, and contributes to recurring back stiffness.

Hamstring and Calf Tightness - Deep posterior chain restriction that limits flexibility, power output, and recovery between training sessions.

IT Band and TFL Restriction - Lateral hip and thigh tightness in runners and athletes contributing to knee pain, hip pain, and reduced training consistency.

Tendinopathy and Overuse Symptoms - Muscle and tendon tension around overuse injuries like Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy, and tennis elbow that responds well to targeted needling.

What Columbus Athletes Are Saying About Dry Needling

Hear from athletes and active adults in Columbus who use dry needling at Revive to reduce tension, recover faster, and train consistently.

For years I struggled with my hamstrings and glutes getting super sore after leg workouts, with practically minor soreness in my quads. Over the past year I had a few episodes of sciatica that didn’t seem to be coming from my back but from my glute area. I’d never been through any kind of in office type physical therapy but someone recommended dry needling as a possible aid in my sciatica issues. A few people at my gym recommended Revive so I decided to give it a shot. The assessment was very detailed not just through questions but also through movements that helped them determine where my issues were most likely stemming from. I was treated in the office and sent home with some techniques that would help eliminate the cause of my issues complete with video how-tos in case I couldn’t remember an exact movement. In short after committing to doing the work required between visits and two follow up visits, each with marked improvement I can say it was the best choice I made to address my issue. I’m so glad I chose therapy over going to the doctor which would have likely just led to a prescription for pain relievers. If you train and exercise hard, I highly recommend giving therapy a shot before going to the doctor. If you’ve ever had sciatica or sciatic nerve issues you know how painful and miserable it can make your day to day life and the staff at Revive was able to have me feeling tremendously better after the first visit and back to normal by my third visit with an understanding of what I was doing wrong and how to continue to train in a way that would make sure I could negate future issues through the tools they gave me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about dry needling in Columbus? Here's what patients ask most before their first session at Revive.

Is dry needling painful?
Most clients experience a brief, mild sensation when the needle reaches the trigger point, often described as a twitch or pressure. It typically passes within seconds, and many people notice reduced tension and improved range of motion immediately after the session.
How is dry needling different from acupuncture?
Dry needling is a physical therapy technique performed by licensed Doctors of Physical Therapy to address specific musculoskeletal problems: muscle tension, trigger points, and restricted movement. It is clinically distinct from acupuncture, which is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.
How many sessions will I need?

That depends on your situation. Some clients notice significant improvement after one or two sessions; others work through a series as part of a broader care plan. After your evaluation, we'll give you a clear picture of what to expect.

Does Revive accept insurance for dry needling?

Revive is a cash-based clinic and does not bill insurance directly. We accept HSA and FSA cards. Superbills are available upon request for clients who want to submit to their insurance independently for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Is dry needling safe?

Yes. Dry needling performed by licensed, certified Doctors of Physical Therapy is a safe and well-researched clinical technique. We use single-use, sterile needles and conduct a thorough evaluation before any needling session.
