Hip Pain Physical Therapy in Columbus, GA

Stop Training Around It and Fix It

Hip pain that shows up during squats, runs, or even just sitting tells you something's off — and pushing through without addressing the root cause makes it worse. At Revive, we find exactly what's driving it and build a personalized plan to resolve it so you can train without modifying around the problem.

Hip Pain Doesn't Resolve on Its Own

It's Keeping You Out of the Movements You Love

Hip pain during squats, deadlifts, running, or lateral movements doesn't just limit your performance. It forces you to compensate, modify, and gradually lose confidence in your training.

Rest Only Buys Time

Taking time off reduces symptoms temporarily, but without identifying the root cause (whether it's a mobility restriction, strength deficit, or labral issue) the pain returns when you reload.

Compensating Is Adding to the Problem

When your hip doesn't move correctly, your lower back, knee, and opposite side pick up the slack. Over time, that compensation builds into its own set of issues on top of the original one.

Common Conditions We Treat

Hip Conditions We Work With

People come to Revive when hip pain is keeping them from squatting, running, lifting, or moving the way they want. Here's a sample of what we commonly address.

Hip Flexor and Groin Strain - Acute or chronic hip flexor or groin pain limiting running, kicking, and lower body training — including recurring strains that haven't fully resolved with previous care.

Hip Impingement (FAI) - Deep hip pinching or pain at the end range of flexion during squatting, sitting, or athletic movements that may be limiting your training and performance.

Labral Tears and Hip Joint Pain - Pain, clicking, or instability associated with the hip labrum that is limiting your ability to load, rotate, or train at full capacity.

Greater Trochanteric Pain and IT Band Issues - Lateral hip pain in runners, cyclists, and active adults that flares with repetitive activity and limits training volume.

Hip Mobility Restrictions - Limited hip flexion, internal rotation, or extension affecting squat depth, running stride, and overall movement quality during training and sport.

Glute Weakness and Hip Instability - Insufficient glute strength and hip stability creating compensation patterns in the lower back, knee, and pelvis during training and sport.

Piriformis and Deep Gluteal Symptoms - Deep hip and buttock pain that may radiate toward the leg — associated with piriformis tension or nerve involvement affecting daily activity and training.

Post-Surgical Hip Rehabilitation - Structured rehabilitation after hip replacement, labral repair, or FAI surgery to restore mobility, rebuild strength, and return to full activity.

I’ve been going to Revive therapy for quite some time and it’s been an absolute game changer. One of the main reasons I go to Revive was overly tight muscles that led to headaches and migraines (that lasted days at times). Since working with Revive I’ve had less headaches and almost no migraines. The staff is so professional and so knowledgeable, they have truly helped me find relief in my daily life. I would highly recommend you trying this office.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wondering what to expect from hip pain PT in Columbus? Here are the questions we hear most before athletes and active adults start care at Revive.

Do I need imaging (MRI or X-ray) before starting PT?
Not necessarily. Many hip conditions are identified and addressed through a thorough movement and strength assessment without imaging. If we believe imaging would change your care plan, we'll let you know, but it's not required to begin.
Can PT help with hip impingement or a labral tear?

Yes. Physical therapy is a well-supported approach for hip impingement and many labral injuries. Our evaluation will help determine whether conservative care is the right path, and we'll be direct with you if we think another intervention makes more sense. When significant muscle tension or trigger points are contributing, we integrate manual therapy or dry needling into the plan.

How long will it take to get back to squatting and training?

That depends on what's driving your hip pain and how long it's been present. After your evaluation, we'll give you a realistic timeline and clear milestones so you know what to expect at each phase of your plan.

Do you work with high school and college athletes with hip injuries?

Yes. We work with athletes across all levels, including youth and high school athletes dealing with hip impingement, labral issues, and sport-related strains.

Does Revive accept insurance for hip pain PT?

Revive is a cash-based clinic and does not bill insurance directly. We accept HSA and FSA cards. Superbills are available upon request for clients who want to submit to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
