Spinal Manipulation and Mobilization in Columbus, GA

Unlock the Joints Holding You Back

When spinal joints become restricted or stiff, everything connected to them suffers — your squat depth, your overhead position, your running gait. Our licensed Doctors of Physical Therapy use targeted manipulation and mobilization to restore motion, reduce pain, and get you back to moving well.

Spinal Stiffness Compounds Over Time

The Restriction Is Affecting More Than Your Back

Restricted spinal segments don't just cause back pain. They create compensation patterns that affect how your shoulders, hips, and entire body move and load during training.

Medication and Rest Don't Restore Motion

Pain relief and time off reduce symptoms, but they don't address the joint restriction or stiffness at the root of the problem. The issue returns when you get back to training.

Generic Stretching Isn't Reaching the Problem

A tight muscle responds to stretching. A restricted joint is different. Self-directed mobility work rarely addresses the specific spinal segments that are locked down and limiting your movement.

Common Conditions We Treat

What Spinal Manipulation and Mobilization Addresses

From acute back pain and stubborn neck stiffness to movement restrictions limiting your training, spinal techniques at Revive target the joint-level dysfunction affecting your movement and performance.

Low Back Pain and Stiffness - Lumbar restriction and pain affecting training, lifting, running, or daily activity — especially when it keeps flaring after workouts or extended sitting.

Neck Pain and Cervical Stiffness - Limited cervical rotation or stiffness affecting your overhead position, training, driving, or daily comfort.

Mid Back and Thoracic Restriction - Thoracic stiffness limiting shoulder mobility, overhead movement, rotation, and performance in sport and lifting.

Tension Headaches Related to Cervical Stiffness - Headaches affecting your training or daily activity that may be connected to restricted cervical mobility or upper thoracic tension.

Sciatica and Radiating Symptoms - Lower back or hip pain with leg symptoms that may be related to lumbar joint restriction or nerve involvement affecting movement and training.

Post-Training Spinal Soreness - Recurring spinal stiffness after heavy training, long runs, or competition that limits recovery and next-session performance.

Limited Squat Depth or Overhead Position - Thoracic or lumbar restriction limiting your ability to hit proper positions in the squat, overhead press, or Olympic lifts.

Post-Surgical Spinal Rehab - Carefully guided mobilization and movement after spinal surgery to restore mobility, reduce stiffness, and return to activity safely.

What Columbus Athletes Are Saying About Spinal Work at Revive

Hear from athletes and active adults who used spinal manipulation and mobilization at Revive to move better, lift heavier, and train without restriction.

I couldn’t recommend Eric and his team enough, I feel lucky to have them as a part of my care team. They are diligent, familiar and thorough. I’ve never had someone listen to what I’m experiencing and truly want to help in a way that Eric and Allie have done for me. They are both so supportive and intelligent in their craft that you really only need a few sessions to feel better. Their purpose is to have you on your way and not to be a frequent customer. I don’t want to feel better so I can keep seeing my favorite people! Truly couldn’t be more thankful to have find their services.

I don’t think I can say enough good things about Revive PT! I made an appointment due to having severe hip flexor pain. It was to the point I wasn’t able to continue my workouts and my every day life was starting to become effected. I started feeling better after my very first session! The way Revive takes the time to get to know you and the way they personalize your treatment plan offers a level of comfort I haven’t found anywhere else!

I was recommended to Revive based on a friends advice to see a sports centric physical therapist. The staff at Revive Performance Therapy have been incredible for me. I had sought multiple different treatments for my back and nothing really worked. They were able to work with me and my specific issues so well that I kept coming back, to get myself ready for some athletic endeavors I was pursuing. Even at my age, the staff worked with my back, ankle and knee issues, and got me into “fighting shape” in short order. To use a few words to describe the staff, I will just say they are planned, methodical, organized, and efficient. Most importantly for me, they are willing to think outside the box and apply basic but novel solutions to my specific issues, so I am not faced with slowing down, and can ramp up my activities without injury.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about spinal manipulation and mobilization in Columbus? Here's what most people ask before their first session at Revive.

Is spinal manipulation safe?

Yes. Spinal manipulation performed by a licensed, fellowship-trained Doctor of Physical Therapy is a safe, evidence-based intervention for appropriate presentations. We conduct a thorough evaluation before any manipulation to confirm it's indicated for your situation. Spinal manipulation is one component of our comprehensive manual therapy approach, a suite of hands-on techniques performed by fellowship-trained Doctors of Physical Therapy.

Will I hear a popping sound?
Spinal manipulation often produces an audible pop. This is a normal, harmless release of gas within the joint capsule. Spinal mobilization uses slower, gentler movements and does not produce this sound. We'll walk you through what to expect before each technique.
How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the nature of your restriction and your goals. Some clients notice significant relief after one or two sessions; others incorporate spinal work into an ongoing care plan. After your evaluation, we'll give you a realistic picture of what to expect.

Can you do spinal manipulation if I've had a previous back injury or surgery?
Possibly, depending on your history. A thorough evaluation helps us determine what techniques are appropriate and safe for your specific situation. In some cases, mobilization is preferred over manipulation. We'll always choose the right approach for you.
Does Revive accept insurance for spinal manipulation?

Revive is a cash-based clinic and does not bill insurance directly. We accept HSA and FSA cards. Superbills are available upon request for clients who want to submit to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
