Come Back Stronger, Not Just Pain-Free

Athletes come to Revive when injuries, nagging pain, or performance setbacks keep getting in the way of training and competition. We identify the root cause, build a clear plan, and use one-on-one care, hands-on treatment, and return-to-sport testing to get you back competing at full capacity.

Playing Through It Makes the Problem Harder to Solve

Compensating Is Creating New Problems

Training around an injury shifts load to other joints and muscle groups. Those compensations build over time into secondary restrictions, movement faults, and new injury risk that are harder to address than the original problem.

Waiting Isn't a Recovery Plan

Rest reduces symptoms but rarely resolves what's driving them. Without identifying and addressing the root cause, the same injury pattern returns the moment you reload — often worse than before.

Generic Rehab Isn't Built for Athletic Demands

Standard rehab programs designed for general populations rarely account for the training volume, mechanics, and performance standards athletes need to return to. You need a plan built for how you actually move and compete.

Common Conditions We Treat

Sports Injuries and Conditions We Work With

Athletes come to Revive when injury or pain is limiting their training and competition. Here's a sample of the sports-related conditions we commonly address.

ACL Injury and Post-Surgical Rehab - Athletes dealing with ACL injuries — from initial load management and compensatory strengthening through return-to-sport testing following surgical reconstruction.

Hamstring Strain and Recurrence - Hamstring pulls and tears that interrupt training, limit sprinting and kicking mechanics, and keep returning without targeted strength and tissue work to address the root cause.

Runner's Knee and Patellofemoral Pain - Anterior knee pain with running, squatting, or jumping that limits training volume and pushes athletes to modify workouts rather than train at full capacity.

IT Band Syndrome - Lateral knee and hip pain with running or cycling that worsens with volume and requires addressing loading mechanics, hip strength, and tissue management driving the issue.

Ankle Sprain and Chronic Instability - Ankle sprains that weren't fully rehabbed — leading to chronic instability, recurrent sprains, and limitations in cutting, jumping, and lateral movement.

Shoulder Pain in Overhead and Throwing Athletes - Shoulder pain limiting pressing, throwing, or overhead sport performance — from rotator cuff irritation to labral issues in competitive athletes.

Hip Pain and Impingement in Athletes - Hip pain with squatting, cutting, or kicking associated with FAI, labral irritation, or hip flexor strain — limiting athletic function and competitive performance.

Return to Sport After Surgery - Post-surgical rehabilitation after ACL reconstruction, labral repair, shoulder surgery, or other procedures — with objective return-to-sport testing to confirm full readiness.

I've been going to Revive Performance Therapy for about three years, and throughout that time, I’ve received therapy for a number of minor sports injuries, including quad, hamstring, groin, hip, shoulder, and back pain. I can honestly say that each time I've gone after a few trips, I've felt a lot better. Additionally, the staff is incredibly friendly. I recommend anyone experiencing any lingering discomfort to seek out Revive Performance therapy.
Peyton Morrison
Went from being in pain all the time to feeling great! I came in with issues in my traps, Michael got me fixed right up. I look forward to my appointments because I know I’m in good hands and I’ll walk out feeling better than what I did walking in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Considering sports PT in Columbus? Here are the questions we hear most before athletes start care at Revive.

What does sports physical therapy at Revive involve?

Sports PT at Revive begins with a thorough evaluation of your injury, movement patterns, and athletic demands. From there, we build a one-on-one plan using manual therapy, dry needling, progressive exercise, and return-to-sport testing. Every session is with a licensed DPT focused on your specific goals and sport.

When should an athlete start PT after an injury?

Generally, the sooner the better. Starting PT early allows us to address the root cause before compensations develop and start affecting other areas. If you're unsure whether PT is the right next step, our free 15-minute phone consult is a good starting point.

Can I keep training during sports rehab?

Our goal is to keep you moving as much as safely possible. We'll identify what to modify and what you can continue loading so you maintain training capacity while your injury heals. Most athletes can keep training in some form throughout the rehab process.

Do you use return-to-sport testing before clearing athletes?

Yes. We use force plate testing, VALD assessments, and sport-specific performance screens to objectively measure strength, power symmetry, and movement quality. Testing gives you and your coach clear benchmarks and confidence you've actually met them before returning to full competition.

Does Revive accept insurance for sports PT?

Revive is a cash-based clinic and does not bill insurance directly. We accept HSA and FSA cards. Superbills are available upon request for clients who want to submit to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
