Shoulder Pain Physical Therapy in Columbus, GA

Your Shoulder Shouldn't Be Holding Your Training Back

Shoulder pain with pressing, pulling, overhead lifting, or throwing doesn't just hurt, it limits some of the most fundamental movements in training and sport. At Revive, we identify exactly what's driving your symptoms and build a plan to restore your strength and range so you can train without limitation.

Shoulder Pain Compounds When You Train Around It

Avoiding Overhead Is Eroding Your Strength

Dropping presses, limiting pull-ups, and modifying overhead work to avoid pain leads to strength deficits and compensations that make the problem harder to fix the longer it persists.

Rest Alone Isn't Resolving the Issue

Backing off irritating movements reduces symptoms temporarily, but the restriction, weakness, or tissue problem driving your shoulder pain remains and returns when you reload.

Generic Exercises Aren't Addressing the Root Cause

Shoulder exercises from a previous provider or online are a start, but without understanding what's actually driving your symptoms, generic work rarely resolves the problem completely.
Common Conditions We Treat

Shoulder Conditions We Work With

People come to Revive when shoulder pain is limiting their pressing, pulling, overhead sport, or throwing. Here's a sample of what we commonly address.

Rotator Cuff Pain and Tears - Shoulder pain with pressing, lifting, and overhead movement — from rotator cuff tendinopathy and partial tears to full tears being managed conservatively or in post-surgical rehab.

Shoulder Impingement - Pain with overhead lifting, reaching, or sport that may be related to subacromial compression — affecting pressing strength, throwing mechanics, and training performance.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis) - Progressive shoulder stiffness and pain limiting overhead range and daily function — often responding well to targeted manual therapy and mobility restoration.

Labral Tears and Shoulder Instability - Clicking, catching, or instability during pressing or throwing associated with labral pathology — requiring a structured, strength-focused rehabilitation plan.

AC Joint Pain - Pain at the top of the shoulder from acromioclavicular joint injury or irritation — common in contact sports, weightlifters, and overhead athletes.

Post-Surgical Shoulder Rehab - Rehabilitation after rotator cuff repair, labral surgery, shoulder replacement, or reconstruction built around return-to-sport testing and full performance restoration.

Shoulder Pain With Pressing or Pulling - Bench press, overhead press, pull-up, or row pain that limits training and forces you to modify around movements you want back.

Throwing Athlete Shoulder Pain - Shoulder pain in baseball players, quarterbacks, and overhead athletes — with sport-specific rehabilitation targeting full throwing mechanics and velocity restoration.

The staff at Revive helped me avoid knee surgery and get back to my normal activities. Beforehand, I could hardly run with my injury. Then, 1 year later I completed my first 70.3 Ironman. The staff was always very accomidating to my busy schedule and was able to see me at times which were convient to me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Thinking about PT for shoulder pain in Columbus? Here are the questions we hear most before athletes and active adults start care at Revive.

Can PT fix my shoulder without surgery?
Many shoulder conditions respond well to physical therapy without surgery, including rotator cuff tendinopathy, shoulder impingement, and many labral issues. After your evaluation, we'll give you an honest assessment of whether conservative care is the right path for your specific situation.
How long will shoulder rehab take?

It depends on what's driving your symptoms and how long they've been present. After your evaluation, we'll outline a realistic timeline with clear milestones so you know what to expect at each phase of your plan.

Will I have to stop lifting or training during shoulder PT?

Not necessarily. Our goal is to keep you moving as much as safely possible. We'll identify what to modify and what you can keep loading so you don't lose months of training while your shoulder heals.

Do you work with overhead athletes and throwers?
Yes. We work with baseball players, quarterbacks, volleyball players, and other overhead athletes, with sport-specific rehab addressing the demands of your position and sport.
Does Revive accept insurance for shoulder pain PT?

Revive is a cash-based clinic and does not bill insurance directly. We accept HSA and FSA cards. Superbills are available upon request for clients who want to submit to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
